Indy Commute Times by County

There was an article in the Indianapolis Star that I thought would be interesting especially for anyone looking to relocate to Indianapolis.  The article was about average commute times from various counties.  Here is how it breaks down:

Marion County – 21.5

Madison County – 24

Hamilton County – 24.6

Johnson County – 24.6

Hendricks County – 25.3

Morgan County – 27.2

Hancock County – 28.2

I was a little surprised to find out that the average Hamilton County commute time was not longer.  For those of you not familiar with Indy, Hamilton County consists of Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, Westfield, Cicero, and Sheridan.  The traffic reports always detail I-69 as being backed up…I guess it is not that bad after all.

I was also surprised to find very little difference in the average commute times between all the counties; there is only a 7 minute difference between the shortest to the longest commutes.  The article went on to say that the average commute times for Indianapolis residents actually went down.

So if you are looking to relocate and purchase an Indianapolis home, not only do we have some of the most affordable housing in the nation we also have a very reasonable commute time.

If you are considering a move to the Indianapolis area, Rebate Real Estate would love the chance to become your Indianapolis Realtor of choice.
