The much anticipated and much exalted construction of the sporting goods store Cablea’s in Greenwood has been put on hold for now. This comes as a shock to everyone including many investors who used Cabela’s as an impetus to invest in the Greenwood real estate market. Cablea’s cited the national economic downturn as a reason for halting construction on this and other stores across the nation. When Cablea’s announced it would be building a store in Greenwood, it sparked a flurry of commercial real estate activity.
