Fishers’ officials recently gave the green light to add two new big projects to the town of Fishers. The first project is a new water park and Wyndham Hotel at 131st and IN 37 and the other is the RiverPlace project at 96th and Allisonville. The hotel and water park, Fisher Marketplace, will cost an estimated $100 million and calls for a 7-story hotel with work scheduled to begin in July or August. In addition to the hotel and water park, Fishers Marketplace is expected to add more shops and restaurants to the Fishers area. Fishers and Noblesville residents who work downtown could have another viable option to the daily grind of commuting along I-69 towards downtown. The Indianapolis Regional Transit Council is looking very seriously at utilizing existing railways to provide new mass transit options for residents of Hamilton County. The rapid transit line would run from Noblesville and Fishers to downtown Indianapolis during rush hour in the morning and evening and would coordinate with IndyGo buses to pick up commuters. Hamilton County’s population could double in the next 30 years if the prediction that came out on Monday comes true. The current population count estimates Hamilton County’s at 256,000 which is already a 40% increase from 2000. The current projections estimate that Hamilton County’s population could be as much as 436,000 by 2040.
From a real estate perspective, you could not ask for anything better. Obviously, Carmel real estate, Fishers real estate, Noblesville real estate, and Westfield real estate all stand to benefit from this population boom. If this trend continues, Hamilton County could replace Marion County with a current population of 865,000 as the state’s most populous.
