Noblesville West Gateway by Mike Taylor

The city of Noblesville is looking to redevelop its western portion along the White River with its West Gateway project.  The plan calls for commercial and residential development as well as parkland along the White River.  The current proposal calls for $24 million in public money and $238 million of private money over the course of 20 years.  This would be a major long term project and is only in its infancy hence details about what and where are very scarce at this time.
One thing is for sure; Noblesville along with the rest of Hamilton County is growing and will continue to grow for the foreseeable future.  Noblesville real estate remains very affordable in comparison to Carmel, Westfield, and Fishers however as more and more...

Anson Lands Another New Tenant by Mike Taylor

The mega-project Anson has just landed another huge tenant in the industrial park portion of the project.  CEVA Logistics, the world’s 4th largest warehousing company, will occupy 40,000 square feet in the first distribution building scheduled to open.  CEVA will move in next month and will ship high tech equipment for a Fortune 100 company.  While this deal only brings 30 new jobs for the area and pales in comparison to landing Medco as far as jobs go, this does add even more momentum to the Anson project.

While this doesn’t really have an immediate impact on the Zionsville real estate market, it does continue to lay the groundwork for success at Anson which will eventually have single family homes.  Anson, especially the...

Carmel Real Estate 146th Street Widening by Mike Taylor

A word to the wise…avoid buying Carmel real estate located directly on 146th street.  The mayor of Carmel is looking expand 146th street from Spring Mill to the Boone County line to a four lane road.  The goal is to create a major east-west road that eventually goes from I-69 all the way to Boone County.  While overall it is great news to create more accessibility to Fishers and Zionsville from Carmel, homes located on 146th could suffer.  I am not saying avoid all neighborhoods along 146th; just don’t buy a home located directly behind it.  This proposal may not go through yet, but sooner or later 146th will be expanded as it is already a major corridor on the north side.  So if I were looking to buy Carmel homes and I found one I...

Greatest Real Estate Agent in the World by Mike Taylor

greatest real estate agent in the world trophy While I may think highly of myself, I don’t claim to be the greatest real estate agent in the world…close to it, but probably not the best in the world :) What this is all about is a contest thought up by Eric Bramlett out of Austin Texas. A group of net savvy real estate agents are going to compete for the top spot in Google for the keywords greatest real estate agent in the world.

The contest begins now and ends on May 1st when the winner will simply be the person who ranks the highest for this search term over multiple data centers. The prize is bragging rights and Morgan Carey of Real Estate Webmasters has also sweetened the pot with a very generous prize.

Why greatest real estate agent in the world?

Because it is a...

Brookshire Golf Club Can Sell Alcohol by Mike Taylor

A special council for the Carmel Redevelopment Commission decided that it can use its liquor license to sell wine, beer, and liquor at the Brookshire Golf Club.  The Redevelopment Commission received the license after buying the golf course for $2.6 million in December of 2006.  Weather or not this was a good move or a bad move on the city’s part is debatable, but at least they are moving in the right direction.

This should hopefully spark some new interest in the golf course which has fallen into disrepair.  While the city tries to figure out what to do and how much to spend, this is a good move.  Golf courses that don’t serve alcohol loose their allure for casual golfers.  Who goes golfing and doesn’t enjoy a nice cold beer on a...
